Appointment of Principal – Dixons Rhodesway Academy.
Thank you for showing an interest in the post of Principal of Dixons Rhodesway Academy.
The sponsor is an outstanding high performing local school and we want to appoint to the post of Principal for the Academy in July 2008 in time to ensure that the person appointed can start in post 1 January 2009. The Academy will open (subject to funding agreement) in existing buildings in 1 September 2009 with new buildings planned for 2011. The Academy will be 11-18 with places for 1,200 11-16 pupils plus 240 Post 16.
Rhodesway School has made significant improvements over the last few years and is now out of special measures. The opening of the new Academy will transform the life chances of its students and make Rhodesway the first choice school of its local community.
In order to deliver the vision for the Academy we need to appoint an outstanding school and community leader who will not only share our enthusiasm, aspirations and commitment but also bring to the post a proven track record of successful organisational change and development.
You will be aware that the Academy programme enables us to challenge current ways of doing things and requires us to make a step change in the life chances available to the young people in the community. The Academy will have a strong focus upon raising standards and the levels of expectations of all the students.
